I know that you've noticed a change of pace on my social media, I've been posting pics of me enjoying my summer, paired with uplifting, encouraging quotes that I've been screenshotting all year. Mainly because I decided to prioritize my own mental health over helping others to understand social media, but also because I've been busy focusing on my business, Pink Ship. At the end of the day, that's my job lol. But this morning I received a DM that I really want to address. And I'm going to do this in the form of a quick blog post.

I’m not in the business of sharing advice for the sake of it. I always read the room before I speak. Even when I’m teaching workshops, I don't just teach what I feel like teaching, I find out what my attendees want to know and I let their questions guide the direction of my presentation. My objective is that I demystify things that my students are grappling with and if that means steering away from the agenda, I'm fine with that.
It's the same with my content. I don't mind switching things up if thats what I think my core community are needing. Right now, there is an overwhelming disoriented feeling, people are not feeling connected to their content anymore and they don't know why. I'm not going to ignore that. I could act like I don't feel it and I could just continue teaching people how to build a mailing list or whatever but a lot of people are not there yet. A lot of people still just need space to decide what direction they want to take their platforms in. Later in the week I'm going to write about how you can take a personal social media break without being inconsistent with your business page. So look out for that post.
Here are three very important reminders that I would like to share with you.
Release yourself from the pressure to post and share everything in order to prove that you're "booked and busy". That is a scarcity mindset that pressures you into posting just so that people don't forget about you. It's okay to fall back and put the work in behind the scenes. Your work will speak for itself. Remember the goal is to win, not to look like you're winning.
If your content no longer aligns with the person you’ve grown into, then change your content, not yourself.
Teaching Instagram growth hacks stopped feeling meaningful to me years ago. That thinking leads to a lack of creative integrity. The focus should be on adding value to end users. Impact over influence is still the song I'm singing.
So, I say this with love, honestly, just breathe. You'll get your groove back.
And for those of you who have figured it out and you just want the marketing advice that you're used to getting from my platform, my team over at Pink Ship have been delivering! Check out the Pink Ship blog...
